It is often vine-like and will climb other plants for support. Without support, it is an upright, rounded plant, usually less than 2 feet high; with support, it may reach the tops of shrubs considerably taller. Prefers north-facing slopes and often grows beneath and through lemonade berry (<em>Rhus integrifolia).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Snapdragons are named after their flowers, which look like a dragon\u2019s face. The tiny blue-lavender flowers of Nuttalls Snapdragon are no exception. The delicately veined purple and white lower lip makes an effective bee landing platform. Pollinated mostly by small native bees.<\/p>\n<p>Good for flower gardens, under oaks, infill, rock gardens, and slopes.<\/p>\n<p>Like most spring-blooming flowers, <em>Antirrhinums<\/em> are best sown indoors a few weeks before the expected last frost date in spring.
