{"id":33179,"date":"2022-08-10T23:13:21","date_gmt":"2022-08-11T06:13:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-10-19T23:56:40","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T06:56:40","slug":"butterfly-bush-hybrid-lavender-luck-rooted-plant","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/athousandflowers.us\/index.php\/product\/butterfly-bush-hybrid-lavender-luck-rooted-plant\/","title":{"rendered":"Butterfly Bush, hybrid &#8216;Lavender Luck&#8217; rooted plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Buddleja davidii x Buddleja albiflora | <\/em>Butterfly Bush hybrid &#8216;Lavender Luck&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>We picked up this plant as <em>Buddleja stenostachya<\/em> from a retailer and grew her out for a couple years only to discover that it&#8217;s not <em>B. stenostachya. <\/em>We did some digging around and spoke to a Buddleja expert in the UK and we came to the determination that it&#8217;s an inter-species hybrid cross between <em>Buddleja davidii<\/em> and <em>Buddleja albiflora<\/em>. Because of the ploidy difference, the plant inherited the dark red\/purple stems, yellow eyes, and earlier blooms (mid summer) from the <em>B. albiflora<\/em> parent. The long, tapering blooms are very similar to <em>B. davidii<\/em>, but are distinct in that every part of the flower is purple or lavender, with the exception of the pale-yellow eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Since its creation, this plant has made its way across continents and into our garden, and yet, is extremely rare in cultivation.
