The bright purple-violet racemes are like <i>B. lindleyana<\/i> but with 95% of the individual flowers showing spectacular double-petals! The flowers are unscented and completely sterile, so there wont be any unwanted seedlings.<\/p>\n<p>It can be grown as a small shrub, although sometimes looks best when trained on a 3 ft stem to show off the pendulous flowers in a container or on a patio. Prune in late spring down to about 10 inches in height. The plant directs its energy into a long-lasting floral display from July all the way until the end of September!
