{"id":40494,"date":"2025-06-12T23:39:05","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T06:39:05","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2026-07-18T12:42:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T19:42:27","slug":"butterfly-bush-hybrid-pride-of-longstock-rooted-plant-quart","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/athousandflowers.us\/index.php\/product\/butterfly-bush-hybrid-pride-of-longstock-rooted-plant-quart\/","title":{"rendered":"Butterfly Bush, hybrid &#8216;Pride of Longstock&#8217; rooted plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>B. crispa x B. lindleyana | <\/em>Butterfly Bush &#8216;Pride of Longstock&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Buddleja Pride of Longstock, also known as \u2018Longstock&#8217;s Pride\u2019, was bred in England in 1999 by Peter Moore, and is a beautiful and unique upright deciduous shrub from the same parentage as the rare \u2018Pride of Hever\u2019 Buddleja (<em>B. crispa x B. lindleyana)<\/em>, which was bred 40 years prior, of which it closely resembles. The leaves are like those of <em>B. lindleyana<\/em>, but slightly serrated. The flowers are bright purple and upright in open panicles in summer that may become more lax or arching once mature. They are an improvement on B. <em>lindleyana<\/em> and are just as long, up to 2+ ft in length, and have retained some of the fine <em>B. crispa<\/em> scent! Fast growing.<\/p>\n<p>Grows best in full sun in a somewhat sheltered position in well-drained, sandy or gravely soils. Does not like overly-wet conditions.
