Prized for its deeply blue flowers and silver-green leaves, \u2018Ellen\u2019s Blue\u2019 has a somewhat more compact and dense habit. It&#8217;s the standout in any garden, and is certainly one of our favorite colors of any Buddleja! It&#8217;d be hard to resist for any Buddleja-lover.<\/p>\n<p>For the healthiest growth it is recommended to soft-prune in late autumn (to prevent wind-rocking) and then hard-prune down to your knees in April. &#8216;Ellen&#8217;s Blue&#8217; will continue to bloom if spent flowers are dead-headed. Foliage stays semi-evergreen through the winter.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Royal Horticultural Society\u2019s Buddleja Euro-trials at Wisley in 2010, B. \u2018Ellen\u2019s Blue\u2019 was recommended for an Award of Garden Merit and tied for 1st place.<\/p>\n<p>Seeds germinate with heat, humidity, and light. Do not cover tiny seeds with soil.
