True to their name, Rain Lilies burst into flower a couple days after a summer thunderstorm ends a period of dryer weather, sending up a solitary flower that opens straight up. <i>Zephyranthes dichromantha<\/i> are characterized by their reddish markings on the reverses of the soft yellow colored flowers, which bloom from mid-spring to early fall.<\/p>\n<p>They are popular in borders, rock gardens, and containers, thriving in sun to partial shade and are not <span id=\"readmore-32392\">particular about soil conditions.<\/span>. In time, they form a strong patch of foliage, multiplying both by bulb offsets and by seeds (sometimes into the lawn).
