They are typically grown as tender summer annuals in most areas outside their native habitat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Bulgarian Carrot&#8217; Pepper, also called Hot Carrot and Shipkas, has 3-4 inch fruits that are orange and look just like a carrot. The flavor is intense and fruity and the crunchy flesh adds color and sizzle to chutneys and salsas. The 2&#8242; tall plants produce massive amounts of fruit that have abundant seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Seeds are best propagated indoors many weeks before the last frost, or in a greenhouse.
