Our Story
A Thousand Flowers is run and operated by owner Adam DeLong in Snohomish County, Wa. What started out as gardening and landscaping a 3 acre piece of land quickly turned into an undying passion and pursuit to grow and share as many beautiful, rare and unusual plants as possible, ones that he’s meticulously sourced from all over the globe.
Working alone, he germinates, grows, propagates, harvests, cleans, sorts, packages, photographs, posts, sells, and ships packages by himself, putting his indelible personal touch into all the products that come from the A Thousand Flowers brand.
A Thousand Flowers and Adam happens to hold one of the largest Buddleja (Butterfly Bush) collections in the United States, if not the world, collecting every last Buddleia species he can get his hands on. With such a large collection, Butterfly Bush breeding was the natural next step. Living in a state that restricts an invasive (and the most beautiful) Buddleja species, he had to get creative and is currently a few years into the process of creating new and novel sterile Butterfly Bush hybrids that the world’s never seen.
A plant lover in every regard, Adam is a true plantsman, dedicating the majority of the hours of his life to the cultivation and distribution of beautiful, rare, and unusual plant varieties.
