Description
Aloe hybrid | Aloe ‘Christmas Carol’
Aloe ‘Christmas Carol’ is a striking dwarf aloe hybrid celebrated for its festive coloring and intricate form. It grows as a tight star-shaped rosette of dark green leaves with vivid red margins and yellow to deep crimson bumps across the surfaces. The red coloring intensifies when grown in full sun. The rosette remains compact and packs intense visual detail, making this one of the most popular aloes for collectors and growers alike. The flowers, which bloom in fall and winter, are reddish-pink to orange and appear atop a long spike from fall to winter.
Aloes are pretty forgiving plants, but must never be allowed to sit in overly wet soil or stagnant water, so well-drained soil is required. Water moderately when soil is completely dry. Often used as small-scale ground cover in rock gardens or in containers.
Grows best is strong, bright light indoors. Outdoors they can withstand full summer sun once acclimated. Prefers warmer temperatures of 70 to 80°F, but will die if temps reach below 40 °F.
