Description
Athamanta montana/ Todaroa montana/ Tinguarra montana | Canary Giant Mountain Carrot
Harvested: August 2023
An easy to grow, drought tolerant, and tough perennial that starts its first year as a clump of beautiful ferny foliage and then puts on a fantastic show during year two, pushing up a giant and dramatic inflorescence of 5” spherical creamy pale yellow umbels on hunky, well-branched stems, reaching up to 6 ft tall and 3.5 ft in diameter.
Grows best in full sun to light shade with regular to low water in well-drained, rich or average soil. Drought tolerant once established.
Like many umbel-flowered plants, these blooms attract an unusual array of bees, butterflies and beneficial insects. Deer resistant.
Makes a neat and unusual cut flower.
