Description
Zephyranthes macrosiphon | Pink Rain Lily ‘Hidalga’
Pink Rain Lily, also commonly called Rosepink Zephyr Lily, Fairy Lily, Magic Lily, and Rainflower is a perennial bulbous flower species in the Amaryllidaceae family known for producing grass-like foliage and crocus-like flowers. True to their name, Rain Lilies burst into flower a couple days after a summer thunderstorm ends a period of dryer weather.
The Pink Rain Lily ‘Hidalga’ variety is large-flowered with showy, soft pink, six petalled, starry flowers that are borne most any time of the year, even while leafless through winter.
They are popular in borders, rock gardens, and containers, thriving in sun to partial shade and are not particular about soil conditions.. In time, they form a strong patch of foliage, multiplying both by bulb offsets and by seeds (sometimes into the lawn). Fairly tender to severe winter conditions.
