Emilia javanica | Tassel Flower ‘Scarlet Magic’
Tassel Flower was introduced from Asia in 1799 and was also known as “Flora’s Paintbrush” in Victorian times. ‘Scarlet Magic’ tassel flower sports long, wiry stems and small, pompon-like bright red flowers that form in clusters. They are ideal for naturalistic gardens and grow best in full sun with good drainage. Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost, or start indoors 6 weeks before planting out. Barely cover the seeds with soil.
