Bulgarian Catchfly, is also commonly called Cherry Drumsticks and Star Campion, is a broadleaf deciduous perennial flower with strong upright “drumsticks” that begin flowering in late spring revealing beautiful spherical clusters made up of striking rich carmine-red blooms held in dark wine bracts and bright blue anthers held high over ground-hugging rosettes of dark green, oblong leaves. The flowers are a favorite of hummingbirds and butterflies!
Grows well in full sun and rich and well-drained soil. Makes a great addition to container plantings and are an ideal plant for most any garden landscape.
Makes beautiful cut flowers.
