Description
Crepis rubra | Pink Hawksbeard ‘Alba’ (white form)
Pink hawksbeard, also known as Red Hawksbeard or Pink Dandelion, is a classic annual flower that’s native to the southern part of Europe such as Crete and the Balkan Peninsula in southern Italy.
Typically plants produce masses of enchanting pink dandelion-type flowers, however the ‘Alba’ form has solid white flowers that resemble a white dandelion. The flowers bloom during summer and are known to close-up in the afternoon.
Crepis rubra thrives in most soils with little care, including rocky areas and wastelands. Prefers full sun.
Direct sow outdoors in spring after danger of frost has passed or start indoors with heat, humidity, and light. Pink Hawksbeard ‘Alba’ seeds can self-sow, but are not invasive.
