Crepis rubra | Pink Hawksbeard
Pink hawks-beard, also known as Red Hawks-beard or Pink Dandelion, is a classic annual flower that’s native to the southern part of Europe such as Crete and the Balkan Peninsula in southern Italy.
Plants produce masses of enchanting pink flowers that take on the appearance of a “pink dandelion” in summer. They are known to close in the afternoon.
Thrives in in most soils with little care, including rocky areas and wastelands. Prefers full sun. Direct sow outdoors in spring after danger of frost has passed or start indoors with heat, humidity, and light. Pink Hawksbeard seeds can self-sow, but are not invasive.
