Description
Cosmos bipinnatus | Garden Cosmos ‘Cupcakes & Saucers Mix’
Garden Cosmos, also known as Mexican Aster, is a warm-weather annual native to Mexico with fine-textured leaves and tea-cup shaped flowers that float atop wiry stems that sway in the breeze.
The ‘Cupcakes & Saucers” Cosmos is the first of its kind with petals that are fused together, forming a cup. Not all flowers in this mix will show this trait, however there are other unusual traits in this mix, too. Some flowers are single, some partially double, and others fully double blooms, white, blush, or pink in color, all with a prominent yellow center. Cupcakes & Cosmos are a garden standout that will bloom for months on end.
Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
Cosmos do best when direct-sown outdoors after the last frost, but can be started early indoors, too. Will grow in hot sun and poor soil, and withstand drought conditions. Only water during extreme drought. Prefers full sun, but will tolerate some shade. Reseeds easily.
Makes exceptional cut flowers.
