Description
Philodendron micans | Velvet Leaf Variegated Philodendron ‘Halo’
Velvet Leaf Philodendron, also known as Philodendron micans, is a naturally occurring, climbing or trailing variety that was first discovered in 1760. However, the Variegated ‘Halo’ we have here is a newer discovery and is still rare in the plant trade. The difference between Halo and the classic Micans is significant. The leaves are skinny with a velvety deep green iridescence with white halo streaks along the leaf edge(s) or sometimes along the center midrib, and a deep purple-rust color on the back side . The leaves are alternately spaced along thin, long trailing vines but ‘Halo’ Philodendron does not grow as fast as other vines.
